Studies of the historic Square Mile, financial heart of the City of London; developed between 1997 and 2014. Small scale oils include ancient alleys and hidden courtyards such as Bell In Yard, Honey Lane, Finch Lane, Gutter Lane, Cheapside and Watling Street, with views of the River Thames and the Greenwich Peninsula. The City towards St. Paul’s is recorded in a view from the top of the Monument in Fish Street Hill near London Bridge. Studies are made on linen and canvas board, framed with a gold slip.
